ABOUT US

 

AiDa is mission-driven to inspire creative expression, self-discovery, confidence, literacy, leadership & life skills through Dramatic Arts for ages 6-100. Offering innovative year round award-winning classes, drama workshops, public speaking workshops for kids, teens and adults, seasonal camps and Youth Initiative- Mentor | Leaders in Training for secondary students to earn community service credit. Summer CO-OP placement also available.  AiDa is a community engaged builder and partner with Mohawk College Continuing Education, HWDSB Community Engagement, 3 Tier HWDSB Audition Based Arts Program,  The Hamilton Boys and Girls Clubs, Hamilton Arts Council, Hamilton/Ontario Culture Days, Hamilton Pubic Library, Hamilton Small Business Centre, a division of The City of Hamilton Economic Development. 



AiDa encourages imagination, creativity, self-esteem, confidence, communication skills, compassion, acts of kindness, inclusion, team building, mindfulness and respect for oneself, others, nature and the world around us through dramatic arts. AiDa ignites arts appreciation and passion for the arts while lifting the human spirit through social change.

 

AiDa Founder | Artistic Director, Kaime Sherman is an award- winning theatre instructor, drama coach, Author of "Creativity and Flow; A Journal of Ideas and Inspiration," available at www.amazon.com/author/kwsherman. She is also a YWCA Woman of Distinction | Arts & Culture, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 Nominee The City of Hamilton Arts Awards | Arts Innovation | Community Leadership and recipient of numerous community leadership awards fostering growth in the arts and business sector for over three decades. As a graduate of The American Academy of Dramatic Arts | Los Angeles, Kaime was mentored by Master Instructors and legends in theatre, television and film. The AADA teaches the process of acting as a craft which has the power to impact and inspire culture for greatness.

 

The AiDa philosophy is that greatness is within and Dramatic Arts spark one's inner magic to become successful in life.

 

Kaime has remained connected with her AADA roots and alumni. Upon her arrival to Canada in 1980, Executive Director of AADA West, Bryn Morgan requested her to act as a regional representative in Hamilton and the surrounding area, conducting regional auditions for both the New York and Los Angeles campuses. She did so for over 20+ years. She is a member of The Actor's Society | Gold member. As an artist, she believes Drama Coaching is the act of sharing the knowledge gained by Master instructors with a hope she can pass it along to others.

AiDa Location 



Drama workshops, classes, seasonal camps and school field trip workshops (excluding Artist in the Classroom and School Workshops) are held at Churchill Park Community Clubhouse, 167 Cline Avenue North, Hamilton, Ontario in the heart of Westdale. Situated adjacent to Cootes Paradise Sanctuary-Royal Botanical Gardens RBG Ravine Trails, The Aviary and Churchill Park minutes from McMaster University campus.
